Air-Tempo Spatial Clips (ATS Clips) (Pair)

The ATS Clips have been designed specifically for use with the Mod House Audio Tungsten V2 and its current pad offerings. There may be sonic benefits with other headphones from other brands, however, no listening or testing has been conducted on any other headphones other than the Tungsten V1 and V2 as of yet.

What are ATS Clips? 
The concept of modifying the HRTF with some type of pad compression mechanism for the Tungsten V2 came while listening and noticing an effect similar to how the Abyss 1266TC changes its sound signature based on the amount of toe-out applied to its frame. Due to the design of the Tungsten chassis, it was not possible to create a toe-out, so work commenced on engineering a way to mimic some amount of toe-out, or to create an air gap at the pad-face end.

After months of prototyping different designs to accomplish this concept, we produced the ATS Clips, which are designed to be a non-destructive and removable way to create an air gap at the pad face while not interfering with the pad seating.

What do ATS Clips do?
ATS Clips tweak the sound signature of each of the pads available for the Tungsten V2's.  Subjectively, the changes to the sound include more impactful and deeper bass, more air around the highs (which allows the music more room to decay naturally) which equates to a slightly more open sound, a slightly wider and slightly deeper sound stage.  Overall, It makes the Tungsten V2's sound more lively, more euphoric, and more fun.

Do ATS Clips work with Tungsten V1?
While the Tungsten V1, and Tungsten V2 have the same pads, the ATS Clips do not have much, if any, impact on the Tungsten V1 like they do on the V2's.  The V2's are much more HRTF-sensitive than the V1's, and this is why this mod has any impact at all.  The Deep Tune Rings are a better mod for the V1's, and the ATS Clips are a better mod for the V2's.

Will ATS Clips damage my pads?
While the ATS clips have been designed to be non-destructive and removable, it is possible to damage your pads while installing or leaving them installed for a prolonged period of time (months-years).  No such damage has been encountered in our months of many installations and prolonged use, but out of precaution, we advise to acquire a second pair of pads to use specifically with the ATS Clips if you cannot tolerate the idea of potentially damaging your pads. The foam in the pads bounces back quickly with a little fluffing, but its undetermined what impact the compression of a section of the pad would have with prolonged use. Regardless, we still feel strongly that we would sacrifice our existing pads for the sonic benefits the ATS Clips offer, even if we only had one pair of pads.

I only have one set of pads; will the ATS Clips work with what I have?
Yes, the ATS Clips work with all three of the current Tungsten pads.  Our preferred sound signature between the pads and clips for the Tungsten V2 are in this order. This is completely subjective and your preference may differ.
